Pre and Post Homecare Advice

Depilation

  • do not use sunbed or any other heat treatment 24 hours before or after
  • do not sunbathe 48 hours before or after
  • do not use perfumed creams or oil on the area 24 hours before or after treatment
  • do not apply any product to the area for 24 hours after waxing – if bathing or showering use only tepid water for 24 hours after your treatment

Electrolysis

  • do not expose the area to UVA light 5 days before and 2 days after treatment
  • avoid using any product on the area for 48 hours after treatment
  • do not use a rich moisturiser for 48 hours before treatment
  • cortisone/steroid creams should not be used
  • do not apply make-up for 24 hours after treatment
  • wash hands prior to touching the area treated
  • only use products advised by the therapist after treatment

Ear Piercing

  • cleanse the ear lobe at least twice a day without removing the earings, by dabbing the front and back of the ear lobe with a cotton ball dipped in EAR CARE SOLUTION
  • sterilise hands and rotate the earings (like winding your watch) three times a day
  • do not remove stud for four weeks
  • after 4 to 6 weeks a post type stud (24ct gold or surgical stainless steel) should be worn
  • do not wear wire type studs for at least 8 weeks
  • consult your doctor if excessive redness, itching or soreness occurs
  • after shampooing hair make sure all soap is rinsed around the lobe – avoid hairsprays and hair preparations

Nail Extensions

  • use pads of your fingers instead of your nails
  • use gloves for household cleaning and washing up
  • apply hand cream regularly
  • massage cuticle with oil recommended by your therapist
  • use (genuine non-acetone) varnish remover
  • salon infills are required every 2 – 3 weeks
  • do not remove extensions with acetone or by peeling them yourself – you must remove them with face and body shop recommended product and follow the instructions given by your therapist
  • use a 240 grit buffer to gently smooth down the ridge of gel near the cuticle – fill in with the recommended product

Tanning Treatments – Guinot – Clarins

  • consultation and patch test required for all new clients
  • wear old dark loose fitting clothing and underwear, sandal type shoes (tanning products may stain clothes)
  • you must exfoliate and moisturise your skin prior to treatment – better results and a longer lasting tan will be achieved
  • do not use any other tanning product four days before your treatment
  • you must always have a trial run 4-6 weeks before a special occasion and we advise brides to have the treatment at least two days before their wedding
  • hair removal must be done 24 hours before tanning treatment
  • do not bathe or shower for at least 4 hours after a tanning treatment
  • do not take part in any activity that will induce perspiration during the development time (minimum 4 hours)
  • do not get the skin wet during the development time (minimum 4 hours)
  • do not apply deodorant, perfume, body products or make-up during the development time (minimum 4 hours)
  • do not swim in chlorinated swimming pools this will bleach the tan
  • you must use moisturiser daily to help prolong the tan and to help it wear off evenly
  • tanning treatments last from three – seven days depending on skin type and aftercare use
